8280WS Rockwood hole in frame

8280WS owners what do you do about the hole in the frame, where the slide ram comes out? I am concerned about mice get in under the camper when camped and the slide is out. When the slide is in the gold metal cover blocks the hole.

I have used spray foam also, but the slide arm has to move in and out of the frame at this point.

Hmm. What about using a paper towel core to protect the ram, then using the non-expanding spray foam (the type for door sills)? That stuff (for doors) doesn't expand as much.

I made this block to cover the hole in the frame of our 8280WS where the slide ram comes through the frame. My concern was that mice or other small animals could get in between the under belly cover and the floor of our 5th wheel.

This shows the cover Front side

I used 1/2 inch plywood, drilled a 2 inch hole, cut in half, 2 metal straps and bungee cord to hold it together.

The back has 4 magnets to hold it to the frame and some foam weather strip to fill between the magnets.
