Blew my lines out this year for the first time here in north LA. Usually not that cold here but we had several blast of subfreezing weather this round.
I did notice that it wasn't a short powerful blast that cleared the water from the lines, but rather a longer, continuous flow of air that finally brought it all out. Some good advice in previous post. I used my home shop 5gal compressor.

That is the same one I bought. I got it for the camper because it was small. (Fill bike tires, top off camper or truck tires) It should do a good job. I have a bigger one for out in my garage at home.

I just bought a Husky 3 gal from Home Depot for $130 to keep in my trailer, got surprised twice this year in TX with cold blasts, luckily nothing broke except my toilet valve cartridge ($42), I used a 6 gal at home to blow the lines out before when I stopped by the house before taking it to the storage lot but now with one on board I have no excuses.......

That's what I use at home. Its a good 6gl compressor.
