We pull a Sterling 32RL with a 2011 F 150 Platinum with a 6.2, 3.73, and HD tow package So far we have trailered over 7000 miles with no issues. There is no sway or bottoming out. We use a Pullrite sliding hitch on a 5.5 ft bed. We have faced 23 mph head winds while pulling 4 degree hills and had the power to "git'r done". Our worst mileage is 6.6 mpg and the best has been 10.2 mpg. For us, it is not worth sacrificing the ride, to go to a F 250. Our truck is rated with 11,300 towing capacity and our rig weighs about 9,500 fully loaded. I used to have a F 350 with a 460, and 4.10, many years ago pulling a similar size rig. This F 150 tows better. I believe a properly equipped F 150 can out pull an under equipped F 250.

??? I'm confused. The FR site lists the Wildcat Sterling 32RL at 10195 lbs dry with a dry hitch weight of 1755 lbs.

Please don't go by FR's claim that it can be towed by a 1/2 ton pickup. They state that about my 2012 V-Cross 275 5er! Empty 7,791 lbs, limit 9,950 lbs. I would never tow it with a 1/2 ton pickup. I have towed trailers for a number of years, Rvs, cattle trailers and flat trailers. Some of the advice that you are getting on this forum would have you towing more weight then I would. Good Luck and Happy Trails

Bottomline, with an advertised hitch wt of 1410#, it is too much for any 1/2T on the market.

A number of threads seem to have gotten a bit out of hand in the last few days. Can we dial this back a bit? I'd rather not see further moderator intervention. Your "humor" may be someone else's insult. And tone is impossible to interpret over internet and through the written word. If your post is not helpful and to the point of the thread posted by the OP, it might be best to let it go . . . .

You are right. My F150 rig works for me, but nobody believes it. To each his own. If I wanted to drive a big road truck I would buy a Peter-built.

Don't have a F-150, but my 1500 Silverado does a good job on our 12 Flagstaff 8528RKWS. Just completed a 3500 mile trip and ave. just a little over 10 mpg. No trouble in the Appalachian, Smokey or Ozark mountains, but I sure wouldn't tackle the Rockies.

I towed my Flagstaff 8528 CKWS with a 2010 Ram 1500 Quad cab. It towed it really well, absolutely no problems, but my 2010 F250 Diesel tows it soooooo much better.
