Awning mildew

What has given you success in cleaning mildew and/or mold from the underside of your awning? The Rv awning cleared generally are worthless. The less scrubbing and work the better. Perhaps a spray on wash off with hose, is there something that you have used that actually works?

Two things...

JOMAX. (often found in the paint department of the big box home improvement stores)

Wet & Forget. (often found in the cleaning isle of the big box home improvement stores)

Either can be purchased online.

X2 Totally Awesome at the Dollar stores works extremely well. I put it in a spray bottle spray it on, then use a brush or rag then rinse, if it is really bad just keep repeating doesn't take long and smells better then most cleaners.

I have heard of people using Magic erasers but have yet to try those, but heard they work.

I hose down the awning. Scrub with a bmop and a pail of javex bleach and water.
Roll up the awning for 10 mins. Open and hose off. Works great!

x3 on the LA Awesome product. And I've found the spray and roll up while you enjoy a cold beverage works the best. Next time I'll try 2 cold beverages and see if it works better!

Onother thought...I used a swiffer mop thingy on mine. Sprayed cleaner and mopped with the swiffer. Light weight, flat and gentle on the awning.

Awning mildew

I use Totally awesome first round then OxiClean in warm water with a soft Brush, Awning stays clean and free of stains, also you can use a Mr Clean Eraser to get out tuff spots

Hit the awning with Tilex....roll it up for 10 minutes. Unroll it and give it a light pass with a soft bristle brush, rinse it off and let it dry. Then use Wet n Forget.

My biggest issue is bugs getting rolled up....thats the only thing that seems to make my awing "dirty" now.

That's the best way to clean it. I'll try the Totally Awesome.

My awning has the white underside but the darker top...if you roll it up for a few minutes, does the Totally Awesome discolour the darker awnings? I would be afraid Bleach or Tilex would cause discolouration.
I used Spray Nine once in a not so obvious spot, and it caused discolouration of the coloured awning.

No totally awesome does not destroy colors or destroy decals, for a $1.00 product it works amazingly well cleaned my 2012 Shasta awning 100x better then the stuff at CW I spend $30 on that was a dedicated awning Cleaner
