Backing in driveway, distorts tire!

While my wife was backing our camper our drive, I was shocked at how distorted the tires were while the camper was making the turn to get into our driveway, is this normal? It looks like the tire is going to twist off the rim!

We live on a cul-de-sac and when I turn-around at the end it looks like all four of my tires are going to be pryed off the wheels as well. I take it VERY easy when doing this and watch in the mirrors very closely. Next time I will try to get a picture as this worries me a lot as well.

Shoulda seen my dad's "help" last night moving my trailer! he was riding the brakes and turning as sharp as he could. I thought for sure a tire would blow!

Keep the PSI up and go slow if You do the tires will take it best to buy 10 ply tires or up grade as big as zYou can a trick You can use also is wet the drive way down or use a bag of sand this will give the tires a little slippage saves the rubber a lot and thensweep it up for next time ..I am not jokeing ...Bushman

The sidewall flexing that you see is because they are radial ST tires...radial tire sidewalls are designed to flex, that's why they're superior over belted tires for handling.

If you don't have "ST" marked on the side walls of your trailer tires along with the size then you have the wrong tires on your camper. ST stands for " Service Trailer" and they start out as a 6 ply tire and are design to pivet in one spot and or make sharp turns. The standard car tires will not hold up and they have a "P" in front of the size incase some member were not awear.

update, went outside to wash my camper and the tire was flat, took it off and found a nail, so it had a slow leak, maybe that is one reason why the tire look so strange.

Turning, especially hard turns puts a lot of stress on the tires yes, put also the frame of your fiver.

It's nothing to worry about. At slow speeds, there is little stress on the tires. They are rubber after all.

as stated above, that is why u don't put car tires on a trailer. the trailer tire is designed to take the abuse. well....maybe the nail is pushing it a little.
