Battery Cutoff switch
Someone here mentioned putting in a battery cuttoff switch. Usually I just pull the neg wire before I leave but I do think puting in a switch would be cleaner. Anyone have a mod or some instructions to do that?
thanks
Steve

Well I haven't checked, but I'd think the units at an automotive store would come with instructions. I think they're pretty simple. They do come in a varity of configurations though.. here is a pretty good overview.

The easiest to install is probably the blade type. You simply add it right to the battery terminal. You have to check to see if it will still fit in a battery box...if that's where you keep your batt's.

Nice pic!! I'd probably use the 55-9025 model from my link, the wingnut would allow you to install it easily with existing connections.

Oh yea, lots of RVers prefer the rotating marine type switch. It's usually mounted somewhere away from the battery, so they don't have to fiddle with batt boxes, or covers.

My Rockwood has one from the factory, It is located on the left front of the camper, It's a red plastic flip type. It moves left to right. If you move it to the right it disconnects the battery, and to the left it connects.

Last year, I installed a very, very(cheap) inexpensive battery cut-off switch. Not sure how long it will last, but it has done the job so far.
$5.99, Harbor Freight.
