Black/grey handles

I have 3 handles on my trailer. It appears 2 are for the black and 1 for the grey. Is this correct? Why the 2 for the black?

I only see two handles in the pic. One for Black and one for Grau.

The one near the spring shackle looks to be for the black but is kind of hard to tell for sure.

I am not clear about why the two are so close to each other.

Not sure why you have 2 blacks in series except maybe in case there was some residual black tank contents that did not flush and may be within the long discharge tube the second one would ensure the contents stayed in the tube and not come out while underway. Your grey water discharge bypasses that valve so you could still empty as needed and no backup into the main discharge tube. Just a guess of course. Have not seen this set up before. Of course a call to FR would let you know for sure.

Looks like what I see in the picture the bigger black valve (left) is the black tank the smaller black valve is for the grey tank. The small white valve is a fresh water drain line for winterizing or just draining the fresh water tank (or if there are two) for draining the water lines for winterizing..

If you have another black valve somewhere you probably have two grey tanks.

Just a guess, but It looks like a black tank valve was added just behind the cap to help prevent a nasty outside shower in case the valve up by the spring shackle was open.

My guess would be your third handle is a galley tank. On the dual handle one the larger is black tank and the smaller
Pipe is a gray tank. Is the third handle near a kitchen sink?

I read a great way to tell which handle goes to what tank. Mix food coloring in a couple gallons of water and pour it down the sink. Pull the handle and see where it comes out. Mix up another gallon with another color put it in the bathroom toilet. You should have no problem figuring what is where. Best wishes.

It always helps to tell us what brand and model RV you have. I believe Oaklevel gave you the correct answer, valve on the left is the black water tank and the valve on the right is either grey water from your shower or your kitchen depending on the floorplan. As I said, it helps to tell us what brand and model you own.

Any idea how to get broken handles off dump valves? Mine broke last fall while winterizing. Only 1 side of the handle, not both. Still operable, but would like to get fixed before the other half breaks.
