Not in MA or CT, but it won't be $6 or $7 dollars if the governors get wind of it.

That's strange. I live on Long Island NY, and never had to get an inspection. Bought it brand new in 2014 (camper is a 15). Went to DMV no inspection that I knew of, had no issues registering it. Then renewed registration online in 2015, and recently for 2016. Never asked for Inspection.

No inspection on any trailers in NC but give them time. Nothing surprises me when it comes to taxes here.

Illinois law exempts RVS from requiring trailer inspection. Trucks over 8,000 lbs however do have to be inspected, however hardly anyone does it... they just find out the hard way I guess after an accident I suppose.

IIRC when I was an inspector years ago there is a trailer inspection in NC for anything with twin axles but nobody does them nor is it enforced. State law requires that vehicles being inspected must be done indoors, sort of leaves out most shops.

Yup, I am correct, sort of:

Description of vehicles subject to safety or emissions inspection; definitions.
(a) Safety. - A motor vehicle is subject to a safety inspection in accordance with this Part if it meets all of the following requirements:
(1) It is subject to registration with the Division under Article 3 of this Chapter.
(2) It is not subject to inspection under 49 C.F.R. Part 396, the federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
(3) It is not a trailer whose gross weight is less than 4,000 pounds or a house trailer.

So, what is a house trailer?
