Camping fever

I had to cancel my reservations for the 4 day weekend. I was so looking forward to heading out in the morning (Thursday) especially it's going to be 78*. My cousin from Las Vegas and her family is not able to come since her mom, my aunt, is in the hospital. But as nice as it will be on Thursday heavy rain is due in Friday (90% chance) with more rain during the weekend.

This is where the camping fever comes in. Tonight I went out to the trailer to put something away and decided to crawl into bed for a few minutes to relax. Within minutes I was almost asleep and didn't want to go back inside the house. I even locked myself out of the house and had to use the hidden key (inside a secured locked mailbox).

I feel your pain!
Spend the night in your trailer and the next day do something different.
Go to a park for a walk, or take a hike or, dust off your bicycle or something. It helps.

I think everybody here can relate.
I wonder if the adult desire to camp has anything to do with the child desire to build a fort or make a cardboard castle. After all, everyone of us was a kid once. Aren't our campers just portable fantasy getaways? Or am I over sharing? lol

We're currently camping next to the Feather River, in NorCal.
Got down in the 40' s, overnite, but the days are in the 60' s.
I do appreciate that we can camp year-round.

We spent 3 days at the Red River Gorge in the heart of the Daniel Boone
National Forest last weekend. The trees were about 2/3 bare but that left
1/3 in full color for us to enjoy.

Koomer Ridge camp ground has no hookups and the bathhouse was shut.
We didn't care. The nights got down to upper 30s and low 40s. Days were
near 70. It was awesome. We turned the thermostat down to 55 at night
but have FLANNEL SHEETS as well as fleece blankets with down comforter on
top. Furnace ran a few times a night. We just squeaked by on 2 batteries.
Last morning the water pump was sounding tired.

I winterized it yesterday. Possible 30 low tonight.
It's a long time till spring!!

Thanks for the feedback. Things are looking a little brighter today as I still might be able to get away for a few days before Thanksgiving and before Christmas.

I deleted the part about being a caregiver for my dad who had a stroke a year ago. We live in the same house. Until recently I was borrowing my sister's Yukon to tow with and would check with her before making reservations. Suddenly my sister had schedule conflicts which affected my plans as she would not be available to get dad's meals for him. With these being the trips she had approved it was not so easy to accept.

While I will need to cancel a couple of trips we did come up with some dates we could work with. Hopefully she will remember and stay committed to the dates we agreed upon this morning. We both work for school districts so our calendars are similar for many holidays & time off.

The sooner I end this post the sooner I can come up with plan B. I also agree with Oviar view.

Thanks again for letting me vent.
Terie

Agreed. Put our TT to bed for the winter last weekend. Now I have to look at it, sitting outside, covered in snow and ice, and long for the day we can hook up and go. It's going to be a long six months......
