I like my trailer king from Walmart. Under 70 bucks e rated to 80 lbs psi . Untill they bring back american made quality you gotta do what you feel safe with. Carlisle use to be a good tire when it was made in Carlisle Pa. Now when you read reviews on any trailer tire it makes you nervous.

Trailer King tires came on my 5er from the factory. 1st thing I did was get rid of them in favor of Carlisle.

May find this interesting.
During a visit to China in April 2015, Van Ormer saw many new lines of ST products, but says he is aware of only one manufacturer that has “truly changed” the technology of the ST tires. That manufacturer is Carlstar Group LLC, formerly CTP Transportation Products and before that, Carlisle Transportation Products. “With the RH (radial) and LH (bias) trailer tires, they beefed up the bead and sidewall packages so that few others can compete quality-wise with them,” Van Ormer says.

The new HD tires are even better....

Good to know the Carlisle 225/75/15 Load Range E tires should be food enough as they are replacing D range tires. I don't have the need to move to a 16" wheel as I don't have a heavy trailer or load mine heavy.

Good read thanks

I finally got out last weekend and drove 130 miles down I75 to Boonesborough Ky. I also picked up a Tire Minder 55 TPMS. The Carlisle tire and the TMPS worked great. It was about 85 outside ant the highest tire temps I seen was about 95 and the pressures went up less than 5psi from cold pressure. The ride was smooth and stable. So with about a total of 250 miles on the tires I will give them a thumbs up for now.

Thanks everyone,

Tim

Good to know I am ordering a set of 4 for our 2013 Crusader 225/75/15 load E speed M rated, I already have a brand new spare, I will keep for now it is one of the original Power Max tires. I do need to get a TPMS for the trailer though just wish they made one that worked with an iPhone so I don't need several screens across my dashboard [emoji848]

Anyone looking for Carlisle tires Amazon has them on sale just saved $20.00 each compared to Discount Tire Direct, not a bad deal, having them installed by STS since they are going to repackaged my bearings for this year, as of next year I am replacing Brakes with Self Adjusting and new bearings.

Anyone know if BJ's or Walmart can replace tires, STS told me they would then backed out bc they don't have the facilities to do it and Mr. Tire wants me to take my tires off bring them to them with new tires and charge me as if they were pulling them off my trailer, they won't remove them from the trailer, such a pita, another reason I hate living in NJ there are no businesses setup for RV's

I blew 4 Carlisle tires on my boat trailer in 2 years. Two on one trip. Went to Greenball tires then sold the boat and bought a TT

Carlisle tires

I'm a big fan of Carlisle tires. Have ran them both commercially and on my windjammer TT. I will buy them again and again. Excellent service.

I did a lot of research B4 I bought them, do not load my trailer heavy, dry is 8900 and loaded is 9500, I am going from D rated to E rated so I feel better and always check my tire pressure with a gauge B4 we go on a trip and B4 we leave so I feel good as long as the actual tire holds up, but many folks I spoke to switched to these and they do well so we will see. I have a few 2-3 hour trips in next few months then Disney at end of the year so we will see on these trips how they hold up...

Do your self a favor and invest in a good TPMS when you get a few extra bucks to keep an eye on those new tires. Good peace of mind.

I ran Carlisle LR E tires on a TT and 2 5ers and never had a problem. Rarely had to add air. I'd have them now but they do not make a G rated tire so I put Sailuns on the new 5er. Never Good Year as only 1 blowout in 53 years of driving / 43 years towing and it was a nearly new GY.

Carlisle Tires

Carlisle is a US based company. Their auto tires are made in the US, but their trailer tires are made in China.

My Saber has Castle Rock tires (?) It's a 2020 that I purchased in 2019. I've pulled it to Florida and back twice and a few local camping trips. Friday the sidewall of one of them blew out. Luckily, it didn't come loose and tear up the camper. Pretty sad that the tires put on by FR can't last at least three years.

I'm still debating on replacing them with Carlisle or Good Year. There's a $275 difference in price and there aren't any reviews on the new Good Years.
