Ceiling Vents Open during storage ??

In-between camping trips how many of you crack open your ceiling vents when storing your camper ? Just wounding about this to let the camper vent ... I have covers on my vent so rain wouldn't be a problem. Should I crack them open or not during storage ?

I leave mine open, I have a maxair cover on it so no worries of rain getting in.

I leave mine open as well, even if just cracked a bit.

Only time they're closed is when the A/C is on, otherwise open 24/7.

Opened or cracked year round. Just think of it as a house with roof vents. Only it has wheels.

Yep, ours stay open all summer long here in Alberta. We will close them up for winter storage, but once the trailer is summerized, the vents stay open 100% of the time until the last camping trip of the year.

I keep mine closed as it is in the carport and it way too humid to allow moisture in here in Florida.

Used to keep ours open (MaxAir II) but now use a dehumidifier and manufacture recommends closing all vents. Keeps camper @ 50% humidity....

Ceiling Vents Open During Storage ??

Just a couple of words of advice....the first from a dealer repair tech....you should leave them open just a crack during storage as humidity can build up on the ceiling...like the one guy said....it's like roof vents in a house.

The other thing is, I had mince open during winter storage about a couple of inches and had the extra dome vents on. Well....I hadn't realized that the extra dome vents were 5 or 6yrs old and the plastic fins had deteriorated from the sun so they were brittle. They were brittle enough that a squirrel broke thru and then broke thru the screen, but I guess it realized it couldn't go much farther without falling, as all I could see when I opened up in the spring, was the little footprints on the ceiling and a busted screen. Luckily it didn't fall in and wreck the place.
So now I leave it open just a hair and checked my extra dome vents yearly.

Closed inside a garage. Also keep a small dehumidifier inside the MH.
