We ordered a Cherokee 39BK Park Model, it's due to come in at any time. Is there anything we should be aware of when accepting delivery of the trailer? Are there things we should do up front to avoid problems with our new trailer? Are there any characteristic weaknesses of this model or Forest River in general that we should be aware of?
We are fairly new to camping (2 seasons) and seasonal camping is for us. We recently purchased a small lot on a lake to set up on. We are very excited and want to do things right.
Overall, happy with mine but WALK THE ROOF looking closely at all seams around everything coming through the roof. Mine had leaks up front where it meets the front and an antenna that was not caulked properly causing major damage!
Not too sure I would buy another Cherokee or FR product of any kind for that matter, but now that this one is better than it left the factory I know what I have and can finally enjoy it . Good luck!
I took delivery of my new 27L 3-17-07, used it last weekend. the only thing I have found so far to my dislike was a small tear in the shower curtain. Everything else seems fine so far. We are doing a 900 mile trip with it this weekend so I might have other thoughts next week..
one suggestion , when hooking up the water for the first time. keep an eye out at all water fittings for a while. including under the sinks, and interior fittings near water pump and hot water tank, ... dont just hook up and leave your rig, some of these often need tightening on a new tt... enjoy .
