Chocks
Hello all,
I tried finding a post that could answer this but was unable to locate so here we go. I'm looking for opinions for any of you travel trailer owners out there, standard wheel chocks or locking X chocks
Thanks

The general consensus is that for double axle trailers, locking X chocks are the best.
They do a great job of eliminating the movement from a trailer, even when just walking around inside.

X-Chocks for sure. Make sure you determine if you need the standard or extended version before you buy.

I put triangular wheel chocks on, both ways, to keep the trailer from moving, for safety. I then put on X-Chocks to try and stabilize the movement inside, especially from shaking of a washer/dryer.
I also use a kingpin tripod.
I'd use Strongarms if I could, but that's a whole 'nuther discussion.
If I could figure out how to set concrete and remove it, quickly, I'd do that. I'll do anything to stabilize it........though it's not bad, just that any little bit helps.

There has been some debate on this so I'm surprised you didn't get a hit on a search.
X-chocks work great. I use them and they hold my 5th wheel rock solid.
With that said, recent discussion has said they are not to be used in place of regular wheel chocks but in addition to. Some have even said it tells you that on the x-chocks box.
Again, I use x-chocks and no other chock. My rig will not move, it slides the tires before the wheels will spin. Others have said they've kicked theirs out if they forgot to remove them. I could 'maybe' see that with the extended version where the wheels are pretty far apart but not on the closer versions like mine.
Harbor Freight sells a rubber wheel chock for a few bucks.
Look at them and the x-chocks and make your own decisions.
Don't shoot the messenger. Just passing along what the OP couldn't seem to find in a search.

For my downhill and low-side, I prefer my Lynx wheel chock as it clicks into my LynxLeveler blocks:
https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Lynx-0001.../dp/B000UODGIY
On the opposite tire on the same side, I use a rubber wheel chock.
On the opposite side, I use rubber wheel chocks.
Rubber chocks:

I used to use between the wheel chocks (RotoChocks) but never noticed any change in stability. The time or two that I had them between the tires and tried to move the camper, they twisted out. I recently sold them to a forum member.
I started with crappy plastic wheel chocks and watched them get crushed and let the camper slide on a bad downhill parking spot at my RV dealer once. After that I opted for heavier duty wheel chocks.

Looks like I'm a "belt and suspenders" guy. When I get my trailer where I want it, I use homemade angle-front wooden chocks to prevent movement while I'm unhitching. After I get it leveled, etc., I install X-chocks to cut down on wiggle caused by our walking around.

Chocks are for blocking the wheels. They get installed before the trailer is unhitched and removed after the trailer is hitched back up. Especially when in storage.
X-chocks are for reducing rocking. I don't install them for storage.
So I use them both.

2x. Set the trailer level, use chocks to secure from rolling either way, instal x-chocks to prevent/reduce rocking.

On our Coachman the wheels are spaced too close to each other to use an X chock. I have searched for one that was usable for a 2" spacing. eTrailer advertised one but when I got them they were just over the 2" and did not fit.
I even tried fashioning a set from standard plastic chocks and it did not work.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Strange. My tires are 2-1/2 inches apart and I can easily get the standard BAL X-chocks between them. Plenty of room. They'd go between 2" tires.
UPDATE: I see etrailer sells several brands. Which brand did you buy?

I agree, strange.
X-chock advertises on their web site the smaller chock reduces to 1-3/8".
I have to actually crank mine tight together with the tool to get them between my less than 2" between tires, but they do fit.
I also think the small space between the tires is one of the reasons I could never kick mine out if I forgot to remove them.
As I mentioned, they fit tight and will slide the tires. Been proven.
First on, last off.

They don’t make them any longer, but look for a small or petite sized Rotochock. They fit my wheels with < 2” of space.

For what it's worth, these will fit in the tiny Gap on my Flagstaff. Ultrafab 21-001091. Snug, but they fit.

I will try the Ultrafab since they advertise at one inch.
I have barely 1.5 inches between tires. I wonder if PO had put oversized tires on. When the snow melts I will take a picture of it.
eTrailer was great as usual to work with. I tried two sets from them and sadly neither worked.
As a long time campground host I was always amazed at the people coming in with a new RV and a scrap piece of lumber from their garbage pile to hold it in place.

Just to add 'stuff' to this..............I have THREE sets, and sizes, of X-chocks. The best ones no longer fit.....after I got MorRyde Independent Suspension! They put the wheels on closer together.
I got the X-chock 28012 because they advertise fitting much closer together than the 28005's. Well, they will NOT go in as tight as they claim on the box. But, I can barely get them in. Now...one day I am going to have to get new tires. When I do, I think (?) I will get 17.5" tires and wheels. If I do, I think......oddly enough......that their circumference is less than my 16" tires. If so, maybe the 28005's will fit.
Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I have these. They do help the rocking and I feel like if I were to forget them they would not damage my tires as bad as x-chocks but I cannot confirm. I am happy with them but also ended up putting scissor Jack's near the axles and under the steps to really make her steady. It varies by campsite but I always use these.
