considering a fifth wheel

Im thinking about purchasing a new classic lite fifth wheel. I have a standard Ford f150 1/2 ton. Flagstaff 8528GTSS fifth wheel. dry weight weight 6200. hitch weight 1081. I plan on adding air bags to the springs.
no mountain pulling. F150 suggested gwr is 6500. would this possibly be to much to consider?

We have a rockwood 8281 and tow with f250 4x4 5.4l. The trailer is a 2008 and we will be getting something a bit more powerfull as soon as possible. If you have 4.10 rear you should be ok but will know its behind you. We havn't been to the scale yet but im sure pin weight has got to be more than forest river has listed. Good luck.

I've seen it done before with an F-150, but you are probably pushing the weight limits. Air bags don't increase your truck's GVWR or combined weight rating, it just keeps the back of the truck from dropping down because of the load.
Check ALL the numbers and how your truck is set up.

If yours is a 4x2 you should be ok. I have a 4x4 and the gwr is 400# less. We have pulled ours for 2 years and no problems yet.

If the dry weight is already within 300 lbs of your max towing weight then you will be well over the limits after you load the trailor with all the essentials. Whatever you load into the trailor, has to be added to the dry weight and believe me it adds up quick. Chairs, food, water, drinks, propane clothes, etc....

Also the listed towing capacity of the truck does not take into account your on body weight and gas.
