Oh, no private sale please. I would hate to look the person in the eye and tell them what a great deal they are getting.

No support from Forest River or Lippert Components.

I called both Forest River and Lippert trying to get support for the failed frame to pin box attachment on my 2007 Wildcat. Forest River said it was Lippert's problem and Lippert said it was over two years old and out of warranty. Its a real problem when an obvious defect in the design and construction of the frame will not be covered by the manufacture. I have included some picture of the failed pin box to frame. If you have a 5th wheel trailer with a Lippert frame under it, I would suggest that you have someone check it over to make sure that you don't have the same problem that I did. I was just lucky that my 5th wheel trailer did't seperate from the truck and cause a major accident.

Can't believe Lippert gets away with this with all the lawsuits going on. Hope these failures are being reported to National Transportation Safety Board or whomever oversees this. No auto manufacturer could ever get away with this warrantee or no warrantee. This is totally unacceptable and people are going to get hurt or does it take fatalities to get some action.

Where are all the Chinese tire bashers comments on this Made In America problem?

I could see the cracks on the back side of the pin box where the pin box is welded to the frame cross member. This crack was about .5 inches wide and went from one side of the pin box to the other side. The cracks on the front side side of the pin box were not exposed until the repair shop removed the fiberglass panel under the 5th wheel overhang.
I am going to report this incident to the National Transportation Safety Board, along with sending them the pictures of the cracks.
I am also going to copy Lippert Components and Forest River on this email and also send them copies of the pictures. We will see if that will raise a response out of them. This is a serious problem that Lippert has with their 5th wheel frames and it needs to be addressed before someone is killed or injured in a 5th wheel accident caused by their frame. problems.

After seeing the pictures, I was going to make a comment that this should be reported to the NTSB, but you were already a step ahead. That looks plum scary.

I have noticed quite a bit of flex in that area while towing.
I thought it was normal. I think a strong flashlight and trim removal is in order. My project for this week.

So when Toyota discovered accelerator problem and car is out of warrantee did they blame and suggest to owners to fight with component manufacturer?
NOT
Only the RV industry gets away with this
