Dinette Bed Conversion

We took our son and his family camping with us. They have two small boys so we were going to use the dinette for their bed. The table top is at least 2" wider than the space between the ledges on the front edges of the benches. Needless to say, the boys didn't have a comfortable night's sleep on the floor.
Has anyone else had this problem?? There's no room to move the bench back toward the sofa to make it work. I guess FR didn't intend on using the dinette for a bed even though the TT is listed as as a six sleeper. I'm planning on cutting a piece of 5/8" plywood to fit and then storing it...where??

We haven't set ours up as a bed yet, but thanks to your post I will soon. Your fix sounds like a good idea. Maybe even cut the plywood to fit the whole length from booth back board to booth back board. Storing under the mattress in the master bedroom?

Had a similar problem in our old TT (not FR). Used 5/8 ply cut to fit where the table was supposed to go and stored it under the mattress in the master
