Now you have the best of both worlds... Local ota channels and satellite by just switching inputs on the tv. And you dont have to run a new cable/satellite wire.
I saw this type of mod the other day on the web. I am trying to figure out right now which wire is which. I have a satellite and cable on the business side of the rv's exterior. I also have a coax hookup on the camping side of of the exterior. I think once I am able to figure our which wire goes to what, this mod will be easy. I have a coax cable tester from back in the day, I just need to find it.
I have a white piece of copper, a orange piece, a orange piece with a strip of black electrical tape on it, and a black piece. I would love to build some type of bypass like you are talking about.
