Don't kick me off but...

Has anyone seen a ford travel trailer. I just heard a ad for them on the radio. Didn't know ford was even making them. Did ford buy a company out? Still sticking with my rockwood though pulled with my fors f150 echoboost.

Ford is good at making trucks and chassis for MH I don't think I would be interested in a Ford TT JMHO

Ford doesn't make them, just licenses their name to Thor.

As does Coleman also. If you can live without Ford decals, Ford wheels, Ford emblems on the upholstery, and other hype just buy the same floor plan Livin Lite, you'll save thousands. The Colemans , which are made by Dutchmen and are Aerolite clones, are/were 3K more than the Aerolite.........for Coleman decals. They gave you a cooler, water jug, aluminum wheels, and a stove that popped out of the camper side, which everyone claimed was worthless.

I suspect they'll sell a bunch to the hard core Ford loyalists who would buy a turd if it had a blue oval on it. But then again the Livin Lites are at a much higher price point which is why you do not see many.

Why would you put a blue oval on a turd? It would cover up the GM badges...

it's just like Shelby allowing ford to use his name, they're allowing Thor to use Ford on their campers

You would need some strong adhesive to stick to those GM badges. But please dont ask me why, ask Alan Mulally........he did a great job getting those blue ovals to stick on the turd of a 2013 F150 I have in my driveway lol.

Please do not try and make this thread a Ford vs Whatever brand thread. It has to do ONLY and ONLY with Ford and their name on RV's.

Any more off-topic posts to the intent of this thread will be deleted.

Ford isn't the first to try this, Dodge tried unsuccessfully about 9 or 10 years ago.

Given the build quality of RV's, as we all WELL KNOW, I think Ford is making a BIG mistake.

I agree with this... to me this is a good way to bring the Ford name down in terms of quality expectations. They've spent a long time getting to the #1 selling truck brand, why chance it? I like fords as much as the next guy, but I certainly wouldn't want my TT to have it in bright bold letters on the side.

I think Ford jumped on this because of the 'All Aluminum' tie-in. I looked at the Livin' Lite line and although it was foot-for-foot more expensive, the light weight and all-aluminum was appealing. I'm thinkin' that Ford F150 aluminum body was just too good a pairing for Ford or Thor to pass up.

There is nothing wrong with all aluminum trailer including the frame. It would allow more payload over the axles. The idea of branding something with another brand is not new. Just marketing.

"There is nothing wrong with all aluminum trailer" Light so they can claim 1/2 ton towable. Watch out for wind issues with a light TT.

Just to be clear. I think Aluminum is good and I think Ford marketing made a good move.
