If you have the version with the 3/4" hose connector, you use a screw driver and a hammer and the little piece punches out fairly easily.

And yes, you will need a cap. I got one from the hardware store for $0.49. It's yellow and easy to find if dropped.

I'm gonna give that some thought.

Thanks for sharing.

I'll do that if I ever decide to install a second gray tank

Actually we used a 3in PVC pipe left over from another job so thats why its white, I think a black paint job is in the future. I think the only draw back will be if that tire every fails it will take the plumbing with it..

That did happen to our last camper, the tire blew and rip just about all the plumbing out but thankfully my father in law is a plumber so the fix wasnt expensive. But hey what are the odds that tire will blow??

Not necessarily. It looks like your plumbing is in front of the tires. Tires shredding going down the road tend to destroy stuff behind the wheels, but not as much in front.....although things look awful close there. The fenders will take a beating, but might just save the plumbing since it is front of the wheel wells.

Does that make sense.

rohlingerrv,

I came across a post once, where a guy installed a utility trailer fender and installed it over the tire, to protect the lower part of his trailer.
