Dont understand the 3 sewer hook ups
I just picked up my new 2011 Flagstaff with bunks and half bath, it has 3 sewer hook ups, Why? Do I have to keep switching the sewer hose between the 3 hook ups?

Don't have one, but I have read post on here where folks buy a "Y" adapter for multiple sewer hook ups. Might have to check on that. I think rhino hose make a "Y" adapter. Anyway, consensus seems to be, don't skimp on the the sewer hose or you may wind up in a pile of...well, you know.
Good luck with all the supports you'll have to run.

Welcome to the forums.
Yes multiple sewer connections are getting to be more common especially in the motorhomes with dual bathrooms where one is in the back or on trailers and 5ers where bathroom and kitchen are located far apart from each other. Using the "y" adaptors is the way around this for those owners. Thankfully I only have one.

Welcome to the forum!
You have 3 separate sewer connections because of the physical layout of the holding tanks in your camper didn't allow them to plumb them together. If they were, it may be very difficult to get the piping runs such that the tanks would empty completely. Because of the physical layout in your camper, they may have installed an additional holding tanks (as they do in rear kitchen models) which would give you extra capacity which is never bad.

I have two outlets.
This is what I did. (see attachement)
You can buy a wye and run three large sewer hoses but it's a pain and it takes up a lot of room.
You can but end caps for the Grey Water outlets that will accept a garden hose. You can buy a wye that will allow the water hoses to be hooked together to form one common hose. The elbow on my grey sewer hose has a connection for a water hose. I simply ren the grey water from the galley to it and keep it's valve open.
When it's time to dump the Black tank I close the grey valve, open the black and complete my dump. (no phun intended).
It works well and is very easy to handle.
This can only be used for grey water not the black tank.
I have been using this method for a few years now and it works really well.
You can leave the grey tank valve for the shower and sinks open of you want so that they continually drain or open them only when they are full.

Bill I like your arrangement and your illustration explains it very well but I have one question. Where did you find the sewer connection that allows the input of the garden hose connection on the side? I would like to do that same setup only needing one inlet for the galley tank. The valve at that connection sounds like a must when dumping black tank to prevent it from contaminating the garden hose. I had even thought of making such a connection but worry that it will not be durable enough. It is a very good idea but I just need to find out where to get that connector. Thanks

Bill, do you use the hose connection to equalize the levels in the grey and galley tanks?

I have a 3 tanks on my 26RKS. What I do is relatively simple. I have two sewer hoses, one 10' and one 20'. My main black/gray tank is in the center of the trailer and usually takes the 10' to reach the dump. I connect this one for the entire trip. The galley tank fills slowly so I don't bother to connect it until it needs dumping.
Here is what I do. I make sure that the black/gray valves are closed, dump any thing in that line and set it aside. I connect the 20' line to the galley tank, dump it, rinse it, and put it away for next time. I only have the one hose out all the time. It works for me and I didn't need any additional hardware to make it work.

Hi guys.
I hope that this answers your questions.
I originally got this at Camping World but I searched the website and can't find it. I found it here though.
http://www.rvpartscenter.com/Product...tselect&SID=19
It's red and comes in two pieces.
One piece fits the large hose and the other goes into the sewer hole at the campground.
Here is the cap with hose connector I use at the galley drain.
Make sure you put it on with the hose threads at the 6 o'clock position.
http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...connector/6383
Go to your hardware store and tell them you need a male to male connector for a water hose.
The red sewer connector and the the cap for the galley drain both have male connectors on them.
I also bought a yellow screw on cap to put on the red sewer connector when I need to plug the hole.
I keep both gray valves open all the time (at the camp site).
The last day we are there I close the grey for the shower so that I have some soapy water to rinse the big sewer hose out with after I dump the black tank.
I took the 25' grey water hose and divided it into two pieces.
I usually need about 10' to reach the red connector from the rear galley tank.
I hope all of this makes sense.
I attached a better drawing.
Maybe that will make it clearer.
Bill

My only reasoning was too keep from crawling under the slide out to dump the galley tank.
We also use the shower alot and it's doens't take long to fill up the grey tank.
It just sems to make sense to me.
I would say though that if you have the habit of rinsing alot of food into your galley tank this system may cause a build up of food particles in the tank.
We have been pretty good about using the little strainers that came with the sink and so far we have not had any odor problems so we must be doing ok.

We finally decided to connect the front sewer with the galley sewer using PVC and using a T fitting now have just one connection. Now the back bathroom still has it's own sewer so we will still have to dump that one seperate., My father in law is a plumber so he figured this out for us,, will find out this weekend how this system works .

Although I only have one drain connection I bought one of those red 2-piece guys. Mine isn't open through the 3/4" connector though. I suppose you would have to drill that out to use it. I suppose that you would also need a cap to cover it in case you didn't have the garden hose connected to it.

If you have a photobucket account, upload the picture there and just copy the IMG Code here.
