I have the same unit as dcheatwood so when the fireplace on low doesn't quite cut it, I break out the Caframo heater (sold here in Canada as the Home Hardware 'Classic').

To use a space heater without concern for exceeding your main breaker rating, you can install one of these: GCP1 | Genius Battery Chargers and run a heavy duty extension cord to the 15A outlet on the power pole. Looking at dcheatwood's picture, I installed it through the side of the side just about where his shoes are.

I am assuming that is a factory installed electric fireplace? That doesn't help me at all. What is the wattage of it, 1500 watts? I don't even know where I could put it. Guess I could tear the kitchen table out and mount it there.

Thanks for your help!

Your giving me a headache! I get one when I have to think, LOL!

I shouldn't have a problem using existing GFI plugs. It is just the dog and I so don't think I will have a problem exceeding my 30 amp supply.

Don't most shorepower posts have a 20 amp receptacle as well as the trailer hook ups? If that were the case then a heavy duty extension cord would handle a ceramic heater with no trouble. I can see where that would be nice for some members though.
