Fifth Wheel Build Time

For those of you who have done a factory tour, what is the typical build time for a new 5'ver, start to finish?

Buddy of mine has a 40' Tiffin motorhome and his was a 5 day build, curious on what a fifth wheel takes

Build time ?????

I visited the Forest River Rockwood plant on a tour during the rally. This is one of the questions I ask the factory guide, "How many of the units are built in a day, His answer was About 15 units. I said Travel trailers or fifth wheels, his answer again was 15 units. So here is your answer as a Rockwood fifth wheel being built is about 15 units a day.

As you can see in the picture, here is about one days worth of work!

We took the Sierra/Sandpiper tour & they knock them out in about 3 days.
However once you place your ordered for a unit itís about 3-4 months until you are picking it up from the dealer.

I think if they slowed the lines down by maybe 2 units a day they could improve the final product quality & have far fewer warranty issues.
Those guys/girls are moving at brake neck speed. Itís easy to see how things are missed.

We factory ordered our 5th wheel in late Feb. Seven weeks later it was at the dealer. Dealer quoted us 6-8 week build time so the we spot on with their estimate. You can't just look at build time, you have to factor in delivery time as well.
