Fifth wheelers, what’s in your truck bed?

With Christmas, the fat man brought a folding hammock and a fire pit. I had to find a place for them and laughed as I Tretis’d it in for tomorrow’s move.

I have: 2 generators, gas can, autoformer, 100’ of rope, straps, bungees, sewer bladder, 50’ sewer bladder hose, screen porch, hammock, fire pit, grill for fire pit, actual grill, wood, more wood, 2 scooters, a rake, pool, and 50amp power cord.

Oh and my fifth wheel hitch, of course.

Right now I also have one of my camper’s shocks after the curb incident the other week...

I’m surprised someone hasn’t shamed you yet for putting your life and other lives in jeopardy for overloading you truck beyond its carrying capacity by adding that extra shock absorber in it.

We all know it takes a International big rig to pull a fifth wheel safely anyways...

Hitch, kingpin tripod, 2x12/12 blocks for six landing gear, toolbox filled with various bungees. That's pretty much it.

I have the RV spare tire in the truck bed. This provides added storage space as the tire was mounted inside the front storage area.

I too have an RDS. Mine is the 91 gallon with a 6" deep tool box on top. In there, a big socket set, multiple screwdrivers, wrenches, lubricants, shop towels, etc.

In the rest of the bed is usually just the hitch, the wheel chocks, and the six wooden blocks I place underneath my landing gear legs. Maybe a few pieces of cut 2"x6" boards for leveling if I think I may need them.

Just my hitch and an auxiliary air tank to provide air for the King Pin Air ride hitch if needed. Everything else we need is carried in the 5er storage compartments.

I have a tool box and my 5th wheel spare tire. I mounted a bike rack where the spare was originally mounted. I limit the toolbox with just the essentials.

They're going to nuts over me. I carry along with my hitch (Reese 16K Slider), my Champion 3000 generator, Jerry can and occasionally some firewood. I'm still 500 to 400 lbs below my max payload though.
