Flagstaff Micro Lite vs. Rockwood Mini Lite

Hello,

I sold my R-Pod and am looking to upgrade for some more room for the family. I have narrowed down my search to a new 2017 Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BHS or a Rockwood Mini Lite 2504S. I am not crazy about a murphy bed, but can deal with it because I can still get a couch and save about 6' in overall length. The models seem to be identical other than interior fabric color choices and decals.

Are there any quality differences or anything else I should be aware of?

Any other similar length trailers I should consider that have bunks, dinette, couch, and queen or larger bed?

Thanks for any info and/or suggestions!

Same exact trailers built on the same assembly line.

Only difference is outside graphics and interior decor colors/patterns.

Same thing goes for all Rockwood/Flagstaff products, including the popups and A-frames.

When we were looking at them in January 2015, we were interested in the Mini Lite 2503S/Micro Lite 25KS. As you point out, they have slightly different fabrics and decals.

However, we noticed that the sofa in the Mini Lite had a small "table" between the arm of the sofa and the wall, while the Micro Lite did not, there was just an open space. See pics. (1st one is Mini Lite, 2nd is Micro Lite) We ordered our Mini Lite and we didn't know which way it would come. We liked the "tables" but it wasn't a deal breaker for us, so we ordered it anyway.

If it's an issue for you, you should probably pursue the question further than we did.

All that being said, I THINK they are ALL coming with the "table" now, both Mini Lite and Micro Lite. (But don't quote me!)

Thanks for the info! I think you are right that either model now comes with the tables. Are you happy with your Mini Lite?

Yes, we're happy with our Mini Lite. I've done about a dozen mods to it. Only 2 problems with it after 2 seaons: safety chains were too short for my TV and the vertical support that holds the Murphy bed wasn't screwed in on the street side (dealer fixed immediately, and I added several more screws to be safe).

We bought the Micro Lite model two years ago. Have gone on 24 trips totaling about 60 nights and towed it over 4200 miles. Have enjoyed it very much with no problems to date. I especially like the two doors, ample sized bathroom, and storage.

I will say that I like the side tables shown for the Mini Lite. Would be nice to have a place to set your drink when sitting on the couch. I am guessing they are removable. Otherwise how do you get in and out of the bed without crawling off the end? Although it is a tight squeeze on the sides anyway.

Before buying our unit, I talked to a dealer about the differences. The dealer was part of a two store company. One store sold Rockwood, the other Flagstaff. Salesman said that FR had a rule that there had to be 50 miles between dealers of each line. So you shouldn't be able to find two different dealerships selling Flagstaff or Rockwood close together, but there might be cases of a Flagstaff dealer and a different dealer selling Rockwood almost next door to each other.
His comment mirrored the other comments in this thread, other than exterior graphics and interior colors, identical trailers.

When we looked at our 2013 2503 (pre-owned), there were no side tables/magazine racks. When we took delivery of it, they were sitting loose alongside the sofa. It was clear the previous owners had removed them to be able to get in and out of bed easier and the dealer put them back inside post-sale. We decided to remount them. We have no issues getting access to the bed. I'd rather have them than not.

My 2015 MicroLite 21 DS has the "tables". They actually are extensions of the outside storage area. The Murphy bed takes up the space that would be pass through storage. Without the end tables there would be almost no outside storage at the front. And yes, we do pretty much have to climb over the end of the bed. Only about 2' standing room at the sies of the bed.

My tables are not removable. You may or may not have a pass-through depending on your sofa style. Some we looked at have a plastic bin underneath that you access by opening the front of the sofa. If you have one of these, you don't have a pass through (or only a very LOW pass through). Below is a pic of this on a 2304KS. It's not a great pic, but you can see that the bin and some cross-bars interfere with a true pass through. Ours does not have the bin or cross bars and you can't open the front of the sofa. You can lift the seat cushions for access though. Unfortunately, I don't have a pic of the pass through. Again, it wasn't a deal-breaker for us, so we were going to be happy however it came.

We have the side tables / magazine racks beside our murphy bed / couch in our Mini Lite 2304. They are not removable & are very handy for storing the TV remote (inside)and a cup of coffee (on top). When the murphy bed comes down there is room to climb into bed. Have owned this TT for 4 years and have no issues climbing into or out of bed.
