for mini lite owners.

I was looking at my new mini lite under carriage today and I found something that needs to be improved. The inspection access plate which is located under the shower is quite flimsy. It is only a piece of plastic ( the one that you use for garage sale sign. What is wrong with this piece of plastic is # 1 The plastic is only installed with no caulking tape at all causing the water to get inside specially if your shower is located right behind the wheels. # 2 The screws that hold this plastic sheet dont have washers and are all indented deep in the plastic. Here is what I did to cure this problem. First I installed some caulking tape all around the perimeter of the plate and installed some fender washers avaliable at hardwares stores. Like this the plate is sealed. No water to get inside and no ants to niche in that area. Without this caulking you can see gaps around this cover. I have included a picture.

I'll have to check under mine tomorrow. If it's there I'll try to seal it up before the weather gets crappy.

Looking @ the pic I can see that the plastic sheet is Coroplast

It isn't the most durable mat'l. I know when exposed to sunlight for long periods it gets brittle. We've used them for no trespassing signs, & after a couple of years, they've had it.

I don't know if being in a shade spot will reduce this problem or not. If it was me, I'd replace the panel w/ a more durable mat'l, sheet plastic or aluminum.

Looked underneath the 2106 & it doesn't have an access panel. That portion of the floor is obscured by the grey & black tanks.
