Furnace on house current.
Would I be able to run the furnace in the camper while plugged into household current? it is supposed to go down below freezing tomorrow night and Thursday and I'm concerned about the pipes in the trailer freezing.

Yes. however, the furnace is 12 volt and propane no matter if it's hooked up to shore power or not.
It's not a 110v furnace.
You have to have propane.

Ok great I just figured that I needed to be plugged in for the blower to run didn't think that it would run on 12 volt.

Blower is 12v also.
However, you'll need to be plugged in to keep battery charged.

I wonder if the solar panel that came with the trailer can keep the battery charged if you're running the furnace. I'm going to have to move the trailer away from the house because of high wind that were going to have later and I'm afraid that a tree might fall on it.

I may be wrong but I don't think the solar charger will be able to keep up with the draw on battery from furnace blower also you said you wanted to run at night , no sun no charge.

The fan in the furnace is perhaps the largest consumer of energy from the battery - at least it is in our 5th wheel - around 7A when running.

Hi redcloud1 if you have a factory battery it will not last the though the night with out having the trailer plugged in to 110 volts house power to charge the 12 volt battery while running the furnace for the night. The wind is really blowing here also.
Hope this helps Tim

You don't need the keep it as warm as is comfortable to you to keep the water in the pipes from freezing. Set the thermostat to about 50 F.
If it's just going below freezing the furnace won't be running all the time so even one battery may run through the night.
Can you run an extension cord to your trailer? If you have no appliances on, you would be okay with a 15 amp extension cord to power the convertor to keep the batteries charged.
Or, if you only have one battery, do you have something else with a 12 volt battery, like a riding lawn mower? You could run jumper cables from it to supplement the coach battery. It may be low in the morning and need to be jumped to start, but you'd get your trailer through the night.

It's going down to 30 the next two nights, I wonder if I need to be worried.

If it's only for a few hours, like 4 or 5, I wouldn't worry about it. It will take longer than that for the inside of the trailer to get down to freezing.

X2. Unless the temp is sustained over night, which would be unusual if that's the low, you shouldn't have a problem. I generally don't worry about freezing unless 28 degrees or less is forecast.

Or run an electric heater out to your unit with an extension cord so you don't use your propane.
