One thing I noticed about the Endurance tires is their tread depth is only 8/32ths vs 10 or 11/32ths for other brands. So unless the rubber compound is harder they may not last as long.

Has anybody actually worn out a trailer tire that was not mis-aligned? I read one guy on here says that in 13,000 miles a FEW (not all) of his Endurance tires had no tread, but then again he towed all over Canada and Alaska as part of those miles and that will take it's toll on any tire or axle alignment...
But the reason I am posting is that this Sailun Vs Endurance conversation is apples to oranges???
I know that Sailun does not make the smaller sizes that Endurance makes and I am not sure that Endurance makes all the same larger sizes that Sailun makes... Does Sailun even make an ST tire? That is what Endurance is ST... trailer tire
5th wheels tire sizes, motorhome sizes and lite trailer tire sizes are three different things, are they not? I don't recommend MH owners get ST Endurance tires and many posts point to putting LT tires on 5th wheels... I don't think you can buy a Sailun size for Micro-lites and hybrids...

For my 5er application this question is not apples to oranges. 235/80R16 is availible in both the GY Endurance and the Sailun S637T. Both are trailer tires... one is load E, one is Load G, but beyond that they are both made for my application.
I agree with your point on complaining about a trailer tire being bald after 13,000 miles. For me, we won't go that far in 5 years, so the tires woukd be due to change by age anyway.

Just a question, have you had your trailer’s alignment checked?
I just did & found that both chamber & toe-in/toe-out was off, quite a bit. He made the comment that a fair number of RV’s are off from the start.
I have considerable wear on the outside edge of the tires, after 16,000 +/- miles. Original Mastertrack tires, so actually feel lucky to have done this well without any incidents.
Getting ready to buy new tires now, so some enlightening comments on this thread. Was going with Endurance, but now having second thoughts.

Most automotive alignment shops can’t handle the larger trailers, as you’re probably aware. I ended going to a truck (semi) frame & axle shop. Was within 20 miles of me so that was convenient.
Backed into the shop with both trailer axles on the “alignment” machine. Most of the job was “manual”, bending the axles, to get the camber & toe in set.
Took little over two hours, & was $125/axle. He said he has one customer that comes in every year & gets his trailer checked, as he goes to Canada & back each year.

Under the theory that more data can be helpful in decisionmaking...
I just went over and measured tread depth on my Endurance 285x16s, which have about 5k miles on them.
All four were 24/64", plus or minus 1/64th" -- measured at the outer edge and again toward the middle.
This would suggest significantly better wear performance than Eagle received.
And it really has me scratching my head at Windjammin's post, reporting a starting tread depth just a fraction of what mine measures after quite a few miles.

Just so you know, that's not how tire ratings work. The pressure rating is a cold rating (and cold is ~70 F). Tires are expected to heat up with use and the pressure goes up with the heat -- manufacturers have already accounted for this. It's not your job to prevent the pressure from ever exceeding the cold pressure rating during use. Don't exceed the cold pressure rating when the tire is cold. Do that and you're set. Doesn't matter if that rating is exceeded during use ... it's expected.
Now, if you're driving across death valley, then, sure, maybe the heat allotment that the tire manufacturer made isn't enough and it's prudent to back off pressure. But the way I'm reading your post, it's likely that you're not thinking about pressure ratings quite right.

About 6 months ago, I switched out the "China Bombs" on our 2017 5th wheel ( 40 Foot) with Sailuns and have been really pleased with the results. We RV full time and probably have 3 to 4 thousand miles on them. They pull great and I have alot greater peace of mind. I run between 90-95 psi.

We recently installed four all new Endurance tires on our Cardinal 5er. We will be setting out on a Western Grand Tour of National Parks in May with another couple towing a 5er. We will probably cover at least 10,000 miles in less than 2 months. We will report back on our experience with the Endurance tires.

No I haven't look at alignment. After my summer trip, I made 2 changes: added one leaf on the suspension, and bushings were changed for greasable ones. Apparently, poor quality bushings can be a reason for uneven wear of tires.

I've had Endurance for almost a full year on our Cardinal fiver. Bought them the day after we bought the trailer. We've only put 3,450 miles on them but I just checked them last week for tread depth. None missing from the original.
I always check air pressure before heading out (even if it's just an overnight stop) and historically it's always 80PSI for all four tires. Occasionally on very cool mornings it may drop slightly.
I'm sold on my Endurance - but that's a personal choice everyone must make after weighing the various opinions.

I have been running Sailun tires for over a year now in Florida. I monitor the temp. and the PSI while driving down I95 on 97 degree days. Temp has not gone over 121 and the PSI has not climbed past 122. Very happy so far. I hope I didn't jinx myself.

Thanks yall... I decided to go with Sailuns... if for no other reason, they were cheaper than the endurance and the endurance rated at 3400 lbs each left a gap with my 7000 lb axles

I just rec'd my Sailuns Sat. Haven't got them mounted yet but I can already tell it's a more robust tire then the Constancy that came with my rig. First long trip we had a blow out 500mi in. Fortunately had TPMS and caught it immediately. Lionshead warranty paid for tire and I used that towards the Sailun purchase. Can't wait to get these on and roll down the road.
