Help with fridge and inverter

We are traveling a long distance for the 1st time with our camper. We thought we knew how to run the fridge on the inverter but we didn’t. We have a 2018 Arctic Wolf. Can someone please give me a step by step on what to do?

What is the model of your refrigerator? Are you sure it is a residential refrigerator? If not you might not have an inverter. If it is a residential refrigerator, have you checked the GFCI reset on the inverter?

Are you plugged in to shore power?

It’s an LG residential fridge.

there's really nothing much to do. turn the inverter on and it will draw from the batteries to supply 120vac power to the refrigerator.

some things to check:
batteries need to be fully charged
gfci receptacle on the inverter needs to be functional
refrigerator needs to be on

if you are unplugged from shore or generator power check to see if the lights in the refrigerator work. if so you are getting inverter power. if not, check the status and indicator lights on the inverter to determine if the inverter is working or is in an error state such as low battery. if you have a gfci receptacle for the output of the inverter plug a light or radio into it to see if the inverter is outputting power.

If you have an ice maker, you'll want to turn that off until you have a water source. Our residential refrigerator cannot be turned off except by turning off the breaker switch (i.e., it will continue to run on the inverter or shore power until the inverter is turned off and/or the breaker is in the off position), so be sure that switch is on. That refrigerator draws a lot of power when the compressor kicks-in, so one or two batteries can run down fairly quickly if they are not being recharged by the TV. And the TV battery could possibly be drained if the inverter is running off the batteries and the TT is plugged into a parked (not running/charging) TV. Safe travels!

On our first trip in a VIBE our fridge didnt work. Everchill now nick named neverchill. It ended up being the control board on the fridge. Warranty took care of it but always a pain going back to the dealer. Not sure why they cant stick to the old 12v/ propane combos?

I agree, dont get it either. I can see the residential fridges with inverters because they offer much more space.
But the DC fridges I've seen, look the same size as the typical RV fridge.

Old style electric/propane RV refrigerators cost in the neighborhood of $2500 to place in a camper.
New style residential fridges with an inverter are half that price. No way would I have a residential fridge unless my camper never moved away from shore power.

And a 12 volt dc compressor refrigerator will be even cheaper as no inverter required
