I'm crying!!
Last year I had to replace my Wildwood because someone had a medical emergency and totaled it while it was parked. Got my new Wildwood to replace it last fall, got out once last year and Monday was the first trip this year. I was going down I-81 in PA when a very large road construction dump truck entered the road in front of me. It was going slow, so I decided to pass it. Well, it sped up fast and before I knew it my trailer started swaying. I ended up on the left shoulder and almost lost it . I must have traveled a 1/4 mile until I got control and stopped. The only damage I found was the step was smashed. I figured I must have hit a rock hidden in the grass. Of course the inside was a mess with stuff all over the place with a little damage to one side of the dinette. Today on the way home, I brought it to my rv center. They found a lot more damage underneath. Do know until the adjuster sees it and they figure the damage costs. I'm crying.

Sorry to hear that! Thankfully, no one was hurt. Good luck on the repairs!

How distressing for you! Please focus on your skill in keeping it from flipping and damaging more than just the trailer. Hoping all goes well with the adjuster. Good luck to you.

RitaB.. Glad to hear you kept control. I did that once years ago pulling a tongue light pop-up behind a Dodge Dart slant 6.. Long, long time ago...Very scary..
I want you to be safe so I'm gonna ask if you have a WD hitch with sway protection?

Glad everyone is ok. I have found it is better to be behind a slow vehicle than to be towing to fast you never know when a crosswind or bad ruts in road will.cause trailer to become out of control.

I hope this isn't taken as an insult because I don't mean it to be but why is everyone in so much of a hurry these days especially if they are retired?

I love that jeep. We had the 06 hemi limited. That being said, a set of E rated tires on it will help prevent that from happening again. It makes a stiff side wall. Also more tongue weight will prevent the high speed or emergency sway. Traded our 06 commander on a 14 srt grand cherokee. BFG KO all terrains are a great choice on LT tires. They come in E as well as non E. I put the wrangler duratracs on our commander but did not see them in E. They had no bfg in the size I wanted. Until then be sure to tighten the antisway brake pad super tight on your weight distribution bar setup. Here is a great video that shows how to properly load the wd bars. He is raising the truck 3 inches higher with the jack before locking the bars with the chains. Then dropping the jack.
This is an example of the the sway control with the brake pad built in that needs to be tight. CURT 17200 Sway Control Kit by Curt Manufacturing CURT 17200 Sway Control Kit

Hopefully you will reassess your TV, TT weights, WD system and anti-sway device.
