Inside step

Would like to make top of bottom step hinged to add storage.Tried to pry off but it did not want to come loose sounded like it was cracking.Did this on previous fifth wheel.Has any one done this seams like more than just staples.I noticed on some new ones they have door in riser for step.

Not that this helps but my 08 cardinal has the hinged step you are talking about. Never thought much about using it for storage, will think about it.

That would be a nice hiding place. I'll have to check my Rockwood and see.

We keep shoes in there.

What they did was used the carpet as the hinge if that makes sense.

Step might be screwed down, but I doubt it. Get a bigger pry bar. You're gonna modify it anyway.

Ours has the storage under the step.
That's where DW keeps her purse with $250,000 in cash and a die pack. Oops, maybe I shouldn't have said that.
