Is this common?

I know waiting 6-8 weeks to get warranty service is sadly not that unusual, but the dealer where I bought my Aviator does not allow you to drop your trailer off on a Saturday. This makes no sense to me as the dealer is already open and fully staffed. By having you wait ridiculous amounts of time and making you take the day off of work to bring it in makes it seem like they are trying to avoid servicing it! Is this the norm for RV dealers?

My dealer will let me drop mine off on Saturday and will even let me drop it off on Sunday when the service department is closed

That's crazy, I bet it's last trailer you buy from them.

My first thought was maybe they are crazy busy on Saturdays but if you are taking it to a local dealer in Minnesota I can't image they would be anything but lonely this time of year!

If they refuse to let you drop it off on your day off work, call Forest River for a recommendation for another dealer to do warranty work.

Same here, even better, they even came right in my driveway do some warranty work because I had no time to bring it to them.
I am about an hour drive from them and it happened twice that they came home.
I guess you won't buy again from them !
Once they have the necessary parts, the job is done within a week.
My 3rd unit from them, and I will surely buy again there.

Thanks for the replies. I thought it was a very poor customer service policy and your responses confirmed it. Ironically, they didn't have any trouble selling the camper to me on a Saturday. I'm glad to hear customer service is alive and well at some dealerships!

You can add me to the list, I've dropped mine on Saturdays and Sundays, two different dealers. Open and closed - they have a key drop specifically for times they are closed.

One of my dealers (I've owned several RV's) even gave me a key to his lot to drop off mine for work.
