Keyless entry

We have keyless entry and was told to hold our hand over the numbers to light up them and then enter #'s but it half the time works and gets frustrating at times. I learned yesterday if you just touch the first # and hold it a couple of seconds then enter the rest of the numbers it works every time! It was getting irritating to keep trying and not unlocking the door. Hope this helps someone. 😃

Is it a Bauer? If so what edition. Some have been replaced due to not "waking up." I've noticed with mine, the warmer it is outside the better it performs.

Not sure what kind but my RV is a Sierra 355RE. The lock works great every time now that I learned the trick. Mine wakes up sometimes and sometimes don't.

I don't even wait to get the numbers to light up. I just press the first number of my code for 2 seconds then when I go to press the rest of the numbers are lighted up and so far it works every time.

If you lock yours with the key, will the keypad unlock it? Mine won't which is why I ask.

I figured out the same trick you did, I'm just not sure how comfortable I am with it yet.

I just went through this. Bauer sent me 3 locks before I got one that works "most" of the time. I find that instead of tapping the pad to get it to wake up, I hold my finger on the pad until it lights up. It seems to respond more to heat than touch. It's still temperamental as hell though...

If I lock the top lock with the key, no it won't unlock it with the keypad but if I use the key to lock the bottom lock it will unlock it with the keypad.

I just got my camper with the lock. I read your supposed to run you finger on either side of the keypad and it will light up the keypads. So far it's worked every time for me.

Hmm, mine won't. The bolt doesn't extend as far with the pad either. Man, that's irritating.

I just tried it and your right it does work! The guy that showed us told us to put your hand over the numbers and then key in the numbers. It works less than half the time like that.

Just got my new Sierra with the Bauer Keyless entry, locks excellent unlocks excellent with the new code., until I closed the door for real time test, the door will lock with superior ease, but will not unlock, I have to use my key which turns super super easy so I know its not binding. Works great with the door open testing it, only lock when door closed. Also put in new batteries??????
