Leak from return air vent

We have had a lot of rain (5+ in in 24 hours). I have water coming out of one of the return air vents. Does anyone have any ideas? It is suppose to be nice tomorrow so plan on pulling cover off the AC unit and check caulking. It is a 2016 Wildcat new last May.

The AC has a foam seal around it- usually you pull the cover off on the inside of rv and there are 4 bolts that pull the AC down to the roof and sandwich it.

Rmk is correct, you'll see nothing from the outside.
There is no caulking.
There's a dense foam gasket between the a/c unit and roof.
Remove inner grill and make sure the 4 bolts are snug.
Iirc the torque on them is 45 Inch lbs .

There is no inside cover, this is a 5th Wheel with ductwork for AC. The water is coming in through a return air vent.

I have ductwork just like central AC does in a house.

The vent closer to floor is return air, should only be one, everything on roof is discharge

Nope... not correct for OP's Wildcat. I also have one. No part of the AC unit is visible from the inside. His '16 vent covers are fancier than mine but there are two (2) return air openings for each unit and they are each in the ceiling (not single, not low) near the side wall as shown in his pic. I'll take a pic after the sun comes up. I'm afraid a lion will eat me if I go out now!
That said, I assume water is getting in from the outside and running down your racetrack duct to the return air vent. You may have to take off the outside cover and give a look.

I got on the roof this morning and could not see anything that looked like it might be leaking. I also took the cover off the AC and could not see where it might be leaking. I have call FR customer support and waiting on a call back.

I don't have the same setup but I have had trouble with my return sucking the water back in the drain. When it's really humid and a lot of condensation forms in AC unit or when heavy rains hit it pulls it back in. If remove the filter the leak stops. Dealer is still trying to fix it.

I had the same issue on my 2016 Wildcat 295rsx. In a very heavy rain storm, a small amount (collected about 6-8 ounces over 8 hours) dripped thru the return air vent that's located in the ceiling (if you're facing the bedroom headboard, it's above you to the right).

I was going to take it in for warranty and called the dealer's service dept to get an appointment. The person that took my call was actually a service tech. She said they see that particular drip many times on front mounted A/C's. She said in each case they remove the A/C cover and tighten down each of those 4 bolts. It was simple to do, I did it and no leaks since.

I don't know if they loosened during travel or if the factory didn't tork down enough, but I can tell you my leaks appear to be gone. If they come back, I'm going to go up and tighten again. By the way, I'm a novice and was fearful that removing that A/C cover would be complicated. It wasn't. The hood screws are obvious and easy to remove.
