we looked at this model yesterday and really liked it. We found a left over 2010 and can get a really good deal on it. My only concern is that I don't think it will fit over the truck. The top of the box is 59", I didn't have a tape measure with me and neither did the salesman. I aked if the suspension is adjustable but no it's not. The salesman says it work but I have my doubts. I have a 2002 Dodge CTD 2500 4X4. Does anyone out there have this same setup? The other model we are looking at is the Sandpiper 300BH but I think that maybe a little too heavy.

Our truck box is 53 inches high, and it works out perfectly, with the camper dead level. So yours might not work well.
I have no idea why the new trucks are made so ridiculously high at the box. You can't even reach in to take anything out. They look tough, but are totally useless.

I hear you there. I just have an F150, and it is hard to reach over the bed rails to get anything out of the bed........and I stand 6'3".

My 2010 Dodge 1500 4x4 is taller in the box than my old F250 4x4.
Go figure!
And the Ford has REALLY tall michelins on it as well!
I think the only way to fit a new truck under most fifths is to buy a 2-wheel drive, if you can find one.

I agree I don't understand why they have to be so high. But that was what I was looking for.
I 2002 Dodge should have no problem with that. The fivers suspension can be raised via adjusting to different mounting holes in the spring hangers. Also the Dodges suspension will droop some when the pin is dropped on the truck. From there on you can adjust the hitch/pin box to achieve level ride and the obligatory 5-6 inches clearance.
donn, fist thing, these fifths have the rubber suspension, so there are no "spring hangers" on them.
Also, you didn't even read the original post. His truck box is 59" high, and the camper is 57". So even if the truck settles 3", with a minimum of 6" clearance, that still means the camper is sitting 5" high in the front. While not unmanagable, it might affect the way the fifth tows.
