Other than in the bathroom, there are no ceiling vents in our TT. Wondering if its possible to have one of these MaxxFans installed in our bedroom and maybe even one in the main living area. Anyone know if new holes can be cut in the ceiling and this be installed. There are ceiling lights...I would think that the electrical could be tapped into easy enough....by a professional, that is...I'm not about to attempt this project myself.

Biggest concern is the roof leaking afterward.....

Am I asking for more problems that its worth??

It shouldn't be a problem. I would have an RV dealer and authorized reseller do the job though. I have 4 of them in my Montana 356TBF 5th wheel. Also have the rain sensor to automatically close them if it starts to rain.

Only thing bad about the rain sensor it that you can't keep it open in the rain when you might need some fresh air. You could buy one without the rain sensor and put a vent cover like MaxxAirII over it.

I think I read that the rain sensor can be turned off...

I have an appointment on 7/12/14 at an RV dealership to have this professionally installed. I'll let you know what I think after.

Or purchase the deluxe model with built in rain cover. I have one on order so no feedback yet.

The rain sensor can be turned off. Also, I don't think I want a roof vent open when it's raining anyways.

I bought (2) MaxxAir 7500 that come with remotes & the lid which allows operation in the rain. IMO the rain brings the cooler temps that allow fans vs. A/C. Also, if we leave our dog in the TT (for short periods only), we do not want the fans to quit due to rain.

If you install one in the bathroom, remember, these things really suck! If you don't have an open window or vent elsewhere, you will pull smell from the black tank through the rest of your TT. I installed the first one in our kitchen & didn't open a window when I was testing it. In no time I was smelling black tank until I opened another vent...

I still have to install the 2nd one in our bunkhouse so they can work in push/pull tandem to keep air moving.

Gross!! Thnx for the warning! The dealership I'm working with suggested that one would be sufficient in our TT...it's not too big.

Is it quiet?? That's my next biggest concern....

I put these over the Maxxair 4500, I know it is overkill but we love them.

We just have the 1 Maxxair installed in the kitchen for now & IMO it's all you need to cool a 30' TT as long as you open some windows or other vents.

The nice thing about the Maxxair 7500 is that the fan & hood are all-in-one so you do not have to buy a separate hood. When researching, folks that had both said the Maxxair is louder than the Fantastic... For instance, running on high it was difficult to hear the TV right next to the fan... However, you can set it to any speed, set it to turn-off at a certain temp, use it in push or pull direction, and you can even close the vent & use it as a "ceiling fan" with the A/C running.

I was going to install (1) in master BR & (1) in bunk house but decided a fan over the kitchen would be better than in the master. Not only does it handle the heat produced by cooking but I can run it on a higher setting at night without hearing it directly overhead....

For the 2 I bought on Amazon, both remotes control both fans but they are line-of-sight so as long as the remotes are placed in strategic places they should not interfere with each other...

We had one installed in the kitchen/living room area which we are using right now.
I think it is a great fan, love the remote control.
There are several ways to adjust it, air in or out and the ceiling fan function.
I am thinking hard about putting one in the bedroom as it can get stuffy there.
