Weight of tow vehicle: Standard plus 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog?
Engine and fuel type: 6.7l Cummins, diesel
Weight of loaded trailer or fifth wheel: 9000lbs?
Average speed while towing: 60
Average terrain (level, hilly, or mountainous 'L,H,M'): hilly
Average Miles Per Gallon: 11.1 (hand calculated), 11.5 Truck Computer

Hilly terrain receent 600 mile trip
Average miles per gallon 12.2 with winter fuel blend, better in summer.

I thought RV'n was supposed to be fun, this seems like too much stuff to worry about. When towing and fill up, check the mileage either with pencil and paper or look at the dash read out and see about 9 mpg, I am pleased.

I agree. I get about 11-13 mpg towing but this include hitting some heavy traffic. Likely would be somewhat better is towing long distance on an open road without encountering heavy traffic.

VERY noticeable difference. I set my back to a stock tune to take it to the dealer for the airbag recall. It drove like a different truck


Is your truck automatic or manual?
