Yes, removed the old tank and put the 50 gallon tank in its place under the truck. Hangs down about an inch lower than the old tank. Sweet setup.

I stopped tracking MPG as it's a pointless number.

I know that my current set up can tow for about 4 hours (on highway) on a full tank of gas,so I plan fuel stops accordingly. I don't care that I'm getting 16 or mpg.....who cares.

How far can I drive before I need fuel is the question.

Right, it's about range. The 50 gallon tank gives me more range so I can be a little picky about where I fuel up and what I pay per gallon. Thanks.

Well I agree it is only a number but I like to watch it because a drastic change in MPG not accounted for by hills, wind or something could be the start of another problem. I had an 89 F-150 and for some reason my mileage started to just drop off. Did some checking and found my air filter had plugged up real bad. Replaced that and MPG went right back to normal.

I added the Titan so I can go all day towing and then fill up when we stop for the night. This way we can stop at rest areas for us and the dogs and not have to deal with unloading them at a crowded fuel station. Love the added range and still having the bed open.
