Mirror mount for backup camera monitor

I have a 7" monitor for my backup camera. Somewhere on the web I saw a device that holds the monitor and allows you to clip it to your truck's rearview mirror. I have not been able to find the device now that I am interested in buying one! Can anyone help me find one of these? Thanks much!!

Gastan fashioned one out of ABS plastic and a heat gun. I have not been able to find one either for the 7 inch monitor commercially.

I have a 5" monitor, so this may not work for you. I use a couple of those gals hair bungees. Works well for me.

could not read drawing

Thanks for the inputs! I tried to print the drawing, but the dimensions were not clear enough to read. I can probably guessitmate them, but don't know how to get them to copy clearly to a new page.
Thanks again for your help folks!
I thought I saw one review of cameras that had a holder at the end of the list and told who was selling them; of course, I can't find it now!

I just use a couple of velcro strips that hook at the top of the monitor, pass behind the mirror and then hook at the bottom of the monitor. It holds well and I can put it on or take it off in a few seconds. However, my monitor is smaller than yours. It may not work for a 7".

I use a couple of those mini bungee cords on my 7" monitor. Hook the hooks together and it's like a strong rubber band. Little to no vibration.
Worked great this last camping season.

Hook and Loop

I use this stuff- a couple of strips on the mirror and matching strips on the back of the monitor. Amazon sells it in a variety of widths and roll lengths (called industrial hook and loop).

That looks like something I could use! Thanks! How does it attach to the monitor?

That would be a HUGE view obstruction hanging down below the mirror with a 7 inch monitor. Mount it in front of the mirror. It's one thing when you have something down on the dash, or up by the headliner out of your line of site, but when I see people doing dumb stuff like sticking something right to the middle of the windshield, I am very wary of them, they are dangerous.

It grabs the top and bottom of camera with grippers. As mentioned above, it does hang down quite a bit and has a tendency to block viewable space because of the 7" size - but that is a matter of personal preference for each driver. We did get a dash mount with our camera and this spring I am going to try that (there is a box on the dash that drops down and it came with a command strip attachment for sturdiness). Since I do all the driving I get to choose which one works best for me Good luck with your decision - safe travels and

Mirror mount for backup camera monitor

Aaron2018,
I bought this at Amazon for less than $10. I separated the jaw with a small piece of wood and heated it up with a heat gun (you might be able to use a hairdryer). Let it cool down and remove the wood then it should slip over the rearview mirror. I mounted my Furoin wireless camera monitor in it. It works perfectly. My truck is an F150 and the mirror is pretty thick but this works.

Just copy and paste this on Amazon. BE SURE AND ORDER THE 360 DEGREE SWIVEL ONE!

I had the furrion camera and monitor. I removed the windshield mount and cut the back side of a suction cup and just stuck it to the rear view mirror. I could see the monitor and the mirror...then I upgraded cameras and got the bigger monitor.

The new one with 7" monitor sat on the dash but they had a suction mount that I put to the right of the rear view. It is high enough that it does not block more than the toll pass and mirror combined.

I was thinking about cutting a leather strap that would attach to the monitor on each side using the knob-screws that are usually intended for the large bracket. Then I could run the leather strap behind the mirror and across the mirror post such that the monitor would just hang from the mirror.

That link takes you to the thread where Gastan made one in post #1. Maybe it won't work if you are trying to see site with a phone? some people use phones and half the stuff won't work.
