Monthy Costs of Ownership

This may be a difficult question to answer, but what is the estimated monthly cost of owning your rig? I realize that many factors enter into the equation, and the cost will be different for most. However, excluding line items like fuel for your tow vehicle and monthly loan payments, I am curious to know how much you spend to operate and/or maintain your rig. Thanks in advance for your response.

Greg

Neither of our travel trailers we have owned has really cost us anything yet other than insurance, payments and fuel for the TV since we started with RVing 4 years ago.

General maintance item like the re-caulk, wash (not a general maintance item, more like a on gong thing). The onky cost I have is winter storage.

Not sure what my extra monthly costs are, but I can say with some certainty that if you can resist the urge to visit Camping World, your dealer's accessories store, or the MODS section on this site you will save a ton of money.

Seems like my camper fits the "boat profile"; a hole in the water into which you pour money.

Seriously, I am a hobbyist when it comes to the camper. I am always buying something to tweet or improve a perceived "weak area" even if one currently does not exist. Like having a 200 dollar box of Eterna-bond tape and primer in the basement "just in case I feel like climbing on the roof today."

Oh well; another beer and there is always tomorrow. Yesterday I replaced a wall switch that provided power to the bathroom lights and the powered ceiling vent with a two switch model. It is always something it seems.

Payment is 153, insurance is about 30 dollars. license a year is about 80 or so.

Maint cost none yet. I bought it and parked on yard and now have about 2 feet of snow around it.

This is for a brand new 2011 BHKS TT

Like Lou said. Most of my cost at first (I hope) are mods and giving it the home feel.

Scubieman. Your insurance cost is next to nothing. Our is close to 450$ per year but we dont have to renew the licence every year. The licence is for the life of your unit.
