I have a 12v USB outlet and 12v receptacle combination. Works well for me.

We have something similar that also has a small removable shelf that you can lay a phone on. Keeps it off the counter in kitchen in case of spill.

Great to have. You can buy the plug in ones at Walmart and other places like that. My 8282 came with one next to the bed on wife's side.
