The original poster ask, “How old is too old?” 1. You’re too old when your body tells you that you are too old. 2. You might be too old when 2 or more independent physicians tell you that you are too old due to some underlying condition.

I do not know of any statistical data from a recognized authority which specifically suggest there is correlation between a person’s ability to maneuver a trailer and a person’s age.

When you do retire, don’t rush to only drink the coffee, take the time to enjoy the aroma as well.

51 and pulling a 40' Columbus with a 2500 crew cab Duramax. Sold our 32' Itasca MH and still have a 30' 5th parked at the lake. Used to pull Super B's for a local grain farmer but with my back injury I don't have a class 1 licence anymore:-(

Re minds me of my buddy and their tent trailer. He can't back that thing into a camping spot if his life depended on it. They'll just usually unhook and push it in or if we're camping together I'll back it in for him.

The shorter the box, the harder to back in. Short trailers are incredibly squirrely. I'm 56 yrs old, towing a 38ft fiver.

X2 and it's not just the short length that makes them hard it's also the fewer axles the more squirrelly they are when backing as well. That is part of the reason I refuse to buy any trailer that is less than two axles! Plus with two or more axles the better they tend to track while driving down the road! Just my 2 cents

I'm almost 70 and pulling a Flagstaff 27'. It's all in one's mind. I feel 18, until I look in the mirror in the mornings.

Wouldn't it be easier to pull your trailer with your truck? I'd hate to make my wife try to pull ours.

*Sorry, couldn't resist*
