Question New to 5th wheels

I have a 08 5828 CKSS. My Question is does it hurt to leave the hitch hanging
on the pin for the Winter? It is in a secure storage facility under a roof.

I've read that many people do that and that it does not unduly stress the frame. The only downside that I can think of is that it is exposed to the elements and you might end up with more rust than usual.

I've seen it done before but I can't say as to whether it would hurt or not. I personally wouldn't think so. Doing that though would make it easier for someone to back right up to your rig and hitchup and go in my opinion unless you maybe put a couple of titanium (sp) locks in the pin slots to prevent that. There is no such thing as a "secure" storage facility unless it's your own.

But hey I'm lucky and don't have to use a storage facility so I don't have to make that choice.

I would like to you to FRF though! Glad you found us!!

BTW........ I'm the one that wacked your other post asking the same question. No need for 2 as they all get seen. Again welcome to FRF! We are happy to have you here!!

Thanks, I didn't know how it worked.
The Fiver is under cover and the hitch is bagged. But I may go put the batt. in and raise it
back up bed high and load it to bring it home.
