Look for a big bathroom. Look for a U-shaped dinette. The booth dinettes won't sleep an adult comfortably unless they are 5 foot or shorter. A jack knife sofa will sleep an adult if they lay from corner to corner. Look for a walk around main bed if possible.
Look for a unit that has bunks. You could take them out and store your bikes there.
If you bought a used camper, you could do with it what you want and sell it to another biker eventually. There are a lot of nice used camping trailers.
You have a lot of options to consider.

The Wildwood you're looking at may serve your purpose but it won't work for sleeping any more than 2 adults. The jackknife sofa and regular dinette will not work for adults. Only a U-shaped dinette will sleep adults.

For just bicycles, a toy hauler would be a waste of space but if you think you'll want to bring any motorized toys they are ideal.

You may want also look at the Rockwood Mini Lite models. They have 19' and 23' models without slides. IMO, the Rockwood will be a better built camper.

Good luck with your search.

Wildwood floorplan

Dont listen to the must have slides talk with what you want to do, I think you have it nailed with that floorplan. Just traded in a 24' funfinder with walk around queen and no slides. I bought a Freelander MH with no slides. We towed with a van which was great for hauling four or five bikes in the back with the third seat removed. It was easy to put the bikes in at night. Can you get a cap for your truck that is big enough for bikes. Caps can take some of the resistance off the front of the TT when towing.

Other posters are just telling the OP of their experiences. Personally I felt cramped in our popup that didn't have slides and it felt much more open than a TT because of all the windows. Slides add a lot of room but also add a lot of weight. So does the cap you recommend and it goes 100% on the TV. But if the OP goes for a model without a slide, they should have lots of payload available on their Tundra to handle it.

Jarrett, you said you are brand new to RVs so it's very likely that you'll find what you thought was great will be lacking in something significant. Rather than taking big hit trading in a new TT you may want to look for a good used unit for your first camper and then go shopping for something that's a great fit to however you end up using your unit.

Only you know what will fit your needs, and most likely your needs and wants will change with time. We started out 30 years ago with a 12' tent trailer and over the years went from TT to 5th wheel and now we have a 32' class C with 2 slides. 3 kids and 5 grand kids later we require some room. The kids have toy haulers but we are always the base camp and I wouldn't want it any other way.

You might look at some used light weight toy haulers they have a lot of room and without slides much cheaper and you can always throw an air bed in the back for guests. You can certainly fit lots of bikes and use it as a tune up garage or what ever, Just a suggestion? What ever you decide I hope you enjoy your toy as we do ours. There is nothing better than the great outdoors as I'm sure you know.

I don't really want to spend a lot of time in it outside of sleeping. My plan is to take it to bicycling events and use it as sort of a base camp. A place to come back to after the ride and shower, then likely leave again and come back when its near time for bed. Like a hotel room on wheels essentially.

95% of the time, it will just be me and my girlfriend using the trailer in this fashion. Occasionally, we might have a couple of riders crash on our couch or dinette, but the majority of the time will be only us. I don't want to spend too much, nor too little on my first one, but I want to try and get one that I won't regret purchasing.

I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra 5.7 that I will be towing the trailer with. It has a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. I'd ideally like to stay well under that, say maybe a dry weight of 5,000 lbs. for the trailer for example.

Based on that, my thought is I don't really need a big or expensive trailer to start with. I thought a 26 foot one without slides would likely handle my needs. The one I have my eye on is a 2017 Wildwood X-Lite 241QBXL.

I've got what I feel a good price negotiated on it ($16,995) and financing in place. The only thing that is stopping me is that 95% of the people I ask say I should only get a trailer that has a slide out. Despite the fact that every thing I read about problems with a trailer seems to be with the slide outs.

Anyone have any good advice for my situation?
Jarret: How about a Mini Lite 2505S? It has a Murphy bed. You can get either a sofa or a dinette under the Murphy bed. It has another small dinette in the back. There are 3 bunks in back. One of them flips up and there's a bike door there where you're bikes can go. It does have a slide.

My advice is to think more about what's good for YOU and less about later resale. If it doesn't fit you, you'll be getting rid of it, but if it does fit you, you won't.

Not sure you are near ct but I have a great trailer for a couple with occasional guests. Now its used but in your price its a forest river v lite front kitchen. 2012 but Im only asking 16500. Let me know if interested. I would recommend slide outs as well it just opens up your space . Power slides are great.

Suggest you post model number in addition to model year. Others might be interested. There's also a classified area on the forum for selling stuff.

Most "light" models are a bit shy on capacities. If you are going to use the shower, be prepared to bring extra water.
