You can purchase it direct from FR but should be done within 10 days of purchase.
My dealer has already talked to us about buying a third party extended warranty from them but I have no intention of buying it. I will however be purchasing the second year warranty from Forest River.

It’s funny, the dealership handed us a brochure with all the items the third party warranty promises to cover, but it’s not the actual policy. The policy always lists the exclusions and exceptions…very important information. I always read the fine print.

With a two year warranty from Forest River, I will probably look at the Good Sam Club Extended Service plan for an additional three years. I never keep a trailer more than 5 years…at least I haven’t yet.

We are getting a four year warranty with ours. Not sure we will need the second year from Forest River or Good Sam!

Felicia,
Is this a warranty you purchased from your dealer?

no purchased ........ part of package..... will know more when we pick up unit in a few weeks. Then we will go over everything and see what it does/doesn't cover and decided if we need anything additional.

Oakman, I moved the camper to the front this past weekend to de-winterize and load for camping (all food, clothes, and supplies). I measured the bed height before backing under the hitch and after jacks were up, only squatted 1-1/8" fully loaded and ready for the road. Not much different than the Wildcat. Trailer sits perfectly level without adjusting the hitch from the Wildcat settings.

Just over an inch of squat isn't really squat as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the info PapaSmurf. My F250 is a 4X4 and hitching up the Wildcat always made for a smoother ride.

My wife is anxious to get the new fifth wheel. She’s been mentally packing it ever since we ordered the Silverback. I’m hoping we don’t find any major issues when we do our PDI before accepting the trailer.

Good luck with it. I hope you enjoy it.

While you are checking out camp grounds in the area, try the Trail of Tears State Forest, just north of Jonesboro, IL. The road through the camp ground is on a ridge that is so narrow that there are few spots wide enough for camp sites. As a consequence, the sites are spread out at roughly 1/2 mile intervals. The sites are large enough for any size rig. Several of the sites have 3 sided stone shelters that were buit by the CCC.

Oakman, The 29RE fully loaded with half tank of fresh water on 200 mile round trip... pulled like a dream! Very impressed with towing characteristics. Friday on our way out we were getting hit with 40+ mph gust and held our ground. We were rocked a few times, but never pushed into the other lane or anything silly.

Thanks for that info Great Horned Owl. I'll check that out the next time we are in that area.

PapaSmurf, thanks for the update on how the Silverback tows. I was hoping I would find out for myself by now but alas, no Silverback yet. I sure hope it arrives at the dealership this week, the suspense is killing us.
It sounds like you had a successful trip.
