Oven won't light

Out on the 1st trip of 2014 and my oven won't light. Stove works, HW tank lit, fridge working on LP. I'm sure a spider is clogging the line. How can I clean it out ? Need to make biscuits in 2days !

Did you try to light the pilot with one of those long lighters? If the pilot will light off another flame source most likely the spark ignitor for the oven is bad.

Hey thanks, but I believe I must have an occlusion somewhere because the pilot and the actual oven burner are NOT getting LP. I need to take it apart and blow compressed air thru it.

OK here goes, not sure what your doing or not doing so step by step here we go.
1. Gas is on, turn oven to start or Pilot.
2. Press down on the knob.
3. With a long lighter hold a flame at the end of the pilot flame tube. If it seems to take a min. You can see (with a flash light) the metal rod that is also a heat sensor for the gas shut off. Hold the lighter on the metal rod for a min, until you see it glow then turn the stove on regular ( pick a temp) then the burner should light. If you have spiders in the line the heat from the burner will run the out and they will die.
Try this and see how it goes.

Once you set to pilot, do you push on knob for one minute and try to light pilot inside oven?

The burner won't receive any gas until the little heat sensor is hot. Its a safety gas shut off sensor.

I've heard about the spiders clogging the orifice at the pilot, has peoples expierence shown many occurences of that, or does it usually turn out to be a faulty part.

Last year my pilot light would not light. After following the steps I posted earlier in the thread, I sat and watched the pilot tube after I got the burner to light. I was watching to see if the pilot would light off of the burner. And after a min. or 2 a little black fuzzy spider came crawling out followed by a blue flame the promptly ignited said fuzzy spider. This only happened to me once. I took the camper home after our trip and spayed bug killer behind all of the cabinets and have seen no more creepy crawlies....

The problem is with this many active threads and members here on frf a thread can get buried in a matter of minutes and its possible no one sees it.

Sorry no one responded right away for you !

good luck.

IN future post it would be helpful in listing the steps you took to try and figure out the problem so we know what you have and have not done.

Also you can type bump in a post and it will bring your thread to to the top to be seen again.
