Owners Manual

Hi, I have a 2007 Sierra and have been trying to get the owners manual for it. Anyone have any luck getting one from Forest River? I called them twice (left voice mail for the parts dept) and emailed and don't get a response. Just wondering if it is worth persuing. Thanks!

The owners maunual for forest river is imo not worth the paper its written on. Very generic and most things state to refer to individual componets for help.

I have a flagstaff and will scan my manual this weekend and post it as this is not the first request.

If you need help we have many resources here to help with problems.

Hi Patti. My Salem manual isn't all that valuable really, but your local dealer should have provided the manuals for the TT and all its equipment to the original owner. Personally I'd first confirm that th eoriginal owner did not receive the proper manuals and then ask the dealer to reach FR on your behalf about the manuals that should have come with the unit. It's why they call them OWNER's manuals.

Having said that, as Greg says, we did come up with an apparently working email link that gets results. I've asked another member to contact you if he had success.

Just to update, I got a call back from Michelle Miller at forest river and I can order the manuals for my trailer at a cost of $25 including the appliance manuals. I don't expect amazing things from the manuals, but I would still like to have a copy of everything. I figure the reason the manuals are terrible is so that you go to the dealers to have it serviced instead of trying anything yourself
BTW, the camper was used and the manuals were not available when we got it.

RV manuals are always crap.
They write them generically, meaning one manual fits all makes.
They write about systems you don't have, and give you instructions for it.

For example, I have a Shurflo water pump manual with my docs.
I don't even have a water pump. To make it worse, the RV manual has winterizing directions...using the water pump...which I don't even have.
Basically, I have to figure out how to winterize...they aren't telling me how to do it. (go figure)

The specific manuals do a better job...like the Refridge manual, or fireplace manual...good to have.

I have yet to see a really good, RV manual.

Actually although I'm not exactly a tree-hugger, these days you would think companies could simply give you s CD with every manual on it. And there seems to be some interest by other manufacturers to set them up as PDFs online. I love my Salem but the FR website is pretty sucky compared to most competitors. Shame considering how the kids these days rely heavily on what is on-line.

So you're saying we are essentially better than nothing (). Seriously thanks for the compliment... this IS a good place to learn and find out about stuff. Interestingly, if it weren't for new members and new campers, we'd have very little to talk about in that we are pretty boring, so we're kinda glad you decided to join us.

Well, bored, more accurately but I didn't want to point that out. The point is, if we didn't have these young'uns to tell all our guldurn stories to and offer advice to, we'd be playing internet checkers all friggin winter.

That will change as membership increases. Enjoy the one on one quiet time now. In a couple more seasons...you are going to have to work around here!

But, it's all good.

When I bought my trailer I received a folder with all the manuals in it. Not that the manual for the trailer was anything but the generic crap they put out. However, I do agree that a CD would be a nice touch. I guess, if you did not get the original folder, that you could always copy down the serial numbers for the various systems (water heater, a/c, etc) and download the manuals from the manufacturers sites. It does not take too long to do if you have a decent internet connection and you could always make your own CD.
