Pass through storage door

Hi. I am a new owner to a surveyor 321bhts. Was wondering if anyone else had issues with the front compartment storage door warping a little. It don't look like a huge issue to me but I'm bothered cause it's a brand new unit. Dealer apparently thinks I'm being picky. It's supposed to be flush mount and both sides are the same way even when locked? One tech even said "they are all like that". Does anyone have any insight? Thanks Click image for larger version

I have a surveyor as well and never noticed. Looking at it now, neither side is "completely" flush, but it opens, closes, and locks just fine. As long as it is sealing from the elements... which it does... I wouldn't sweat it. That might be getting a little too particular for the class of unit. It's certainly nothing I would have given more than just a passing thought.

On my solaire I noticed mine like that. Wasn't worried with it till it rained real hard and it let water in. A new door on the way.

As flimsy as the doors are, you can bow them back, but they WILL not stay.

Thanks everyone. You all help me have a peace of mind.. Just didn't want to feel rail roaded by the dealer for not wanting to fool with it

Your not being picky. I'm my opinion if we can send men to the moon, then you should be able to build a darn RV.
After all, you did not pay for a cardboard box and tape to camp in. These units and built with no quality or workmanship standards.
We have a 1 month old Shockwave that has plumbing leaks, cabinet handles, switch plates that aren't plumb and hatch doors that won't latch on both sides because not installed square and the latches don't latch to the hatch door frame.
No your not being picky.

If they leak.. that's a completely different matter.. but mine looks pretty much like yours (consistent "gap" all the way around) and I've been running 365 since 2012 without issue.

Enjoy that new rig!

I have a 2015 Salem hemisphere 282RK. They warped and FR replaced them under warranty.
My cargo doors were fine until we had some severe cold here in SC. I can't say the cold had anything to do with it but I noticed it after the cold snap.
Even now the new larger door for the outside kitchen doesn't fit perfect like the OG did but it's better.
They're not made of much and I'm sure they will warp again someday. If they do I'll just try to tweak them.

I agree with some of the posts if it's not leaking don't worry about it. And you're not being picking I completely agree but they all have issues we have to deal with even though we shouldn't.

Any one know the manufacture of the storage door/hatch. I'd like to buy another one to add some outside access to inside storage?

I can look and see if there is a name on the inside of the door. There is a decal but not sure what it says.
It will be tomorrow though the TT is at my shop.
