I'm on my second trailer with a rear kitchen. Generally rk's have more storage space. I've never had any problems with dishes breaking. I don't care for a big rear window, so that's not an issue for me. As far as I'm concerned, no cons.

Hi all,
We definitely want a rear kitchen. Big window to watch the campfire.
But, still not sure about a TT vs a 5th wheel?
We have the TV Silverado 2500HD.
Our trips can be 4-6 hours of interstate and mountains.
Been hearing the 5th is easier on driving.
Salem is most likely the choice. Just don’t know which to go with?
Thanks.

My choice was 5th wheel.. Love the 340RK.. But the difference in pulling between trailer and 5ver is unbelievable... You don't really know its behind you.. I wouldn't be able to talk the wife away from a Rear Kitchen now that she has one.

Rear kitchen
We have a Cardinal 3100 RK LX. The storage and counter space are fabulous. I use gripping shelf liner and store most dinnerware in baskets. The pantry has roll out baskets. I also used thick rubber bands on the cupboard knobs in transit. Haven't lost a thing

Rear Kitchens Pros and Cons
My wife loves and will never have anything else other than the rk. It is a couples tt. Lots of room, bath is open when traveling. Front bed is too for that matter. Love the counter space, 2 recliners and a couch! We even went and still do go to rv and dealers shows to see if we can find one we like better. It hasn't happened yet. Again, her and I with 2 cats.....perfect for us. Wildwood and Salem both make the same one, just diff colors. Good luck
Now I'm going back to looking for my 10mm wrench, something needs fixed! 2016 Wildwood 27RKSS

In laws had rear kitchen and loved it. Problems my wife saw with it was frig was blocked by slide when slide was closed, and she likes quick access for a coke or snack while I pump gas.
My issue with it was, most of our added weight is in the kitchen, pots, pans, appliances, dishes, food in frig and pantry, etc. Fear of making it light at the pin.
I did like that dw in kitchen didn't block view of television. Lol. To each his own.

Sweet Wife likes the camper rear kitchen better than the one in the house! We have never used all of the available storage space. Yes the slide does block the fridge when in, but we also have Igloo coolers for road travel. Never broken anything, never had the fridge come open because we make sure it is properly latched.
Our floorplan has lots of counter space, lots of storage and still has a great openness to it. We do have a big window, only it's on the curb side and not the rear.
Ours too, is a couples trailer as our kids are all grown up. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax when the weather has you stuck inside.
