Red light on stairway

Friends just bought a 2012 Sanibel fiver and want to know what the red light on the stars is. Anyone know?

Possibly someone that has been in the military and is used to the night vision red lights?

Do you think the light is for illumination purposes, odd color for that, or could it be for a warning?

It was a funny question though. Just me going to the dark side again.

Can you post a pic? Our Crusader has a switch under the bottom step - it turns on the ceiling lite over the inside steps - placed so you can reach switch from outside and not enter in the dark

I installed a small red led light with a switch to eluminate the steps. Stepping out of the TT in the dark was like stepping into a dark abys. The red color was to satisfy the DW and her OCD to ruining her night vision. She thought she might miss a comet or something. I know from time in the Navy that red light will not bother your night vision.

I own a 2015 Sanibel 5th wheel and the red light is the switch to turn on the small night lights on the stairs. The red is so that you can see the switch during the night to turn on the small lights if you forget. Works great.

They have a red switch below that one that turns on the step lights but this one is a mystery switch.

It was on the inside side of the stairs. They called and figured out but now I don't remember what it was. I'll ask my husband when I get home and will post it.
