Reese 30048 Slider Swap

(skipping to the end of a long story) Without getting into the merits of various hitches and/or long-bed trucks, I have a couple of questions.

I am pondering replacing the fixed legs of my 16k Reese hitch with a slider unit (30048). Does the slider simply sit into the existing rails? Do the rails need to be moved? Without moving the rails, is the pin location moved forward?

Anyone have experience with swapping to the Reese slider?

Thanks!

David

I had the "universal" bed rails installed. Now with that said there is really nothing different about them. They are just standard bed rails. I found that I could have my current Reese slider installed or a non slider or the pull rite auto slider... Was told all would fit within my "universal" "standard" bed rails... I have not swapped however so I am unable to comment on that part...
